RECOMMENDED AGTION: Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute Amendment
No. 1 to Professional Services Agreement with Poser Construction for
Parks Maintenance projects in the amount of $20,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Approximately one year ago, the City solicited bids from five local
contractors for on-call carpentry services for maintenance and repairs.
Poser Construction of Lodiwas selected as the low bidder, and entered
into a two-year contract with the city through June 30,2020.
All but a few hundred dollars of the original budget of $2O,0OO has been consumed through a variety ofprojects, including dry rot repairs at park picnic shelters and Lodi Lake's beach house, anã repairs to doors atBlakely Park and Peterson Park damaged by vandalism and ordinary wear-and{ear.
I!: qll¡"1 have agreed to increase the amount of the original contract by $20,000, for a total contract of$40'000. As the total contract value now exceeds 920,0001the City Counäil is required to approve thisamendment.
PRcs staff requests the city council adopt the attached resolution.
FISCAL IMPACT: Delaying carpentry maintenance and repairs will lead to greater damages and
higher long-term repair costs.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH POSER CONSTRUCTION, OF LODI, FOR
PARKS MAINTENANCE PROJECTS
WHEREAS, approximately one year ago, the City solicited bids from five local
contractors for on-call carpentry services for maintenance and repairs. Poser Construction, of
Lodi, was selected as the low bidder and entered into a two-year contract with the City through
June 30, 2020; and
WHEREAS, all but a few hundred dollars of the original contract of $20,000 has been
utilized through a variety of projects; and
WHEREAS, all parties have agreed to increase the amount of the original contract by
$20,000, for a total contract of $40,000; and
WHEREAS, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services staff requests the City Council
approve the increase in the contract with Poser Construction, of Lodi, for a not-to-exceed
amount of $40,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services
Agreement for parks maintenance projects with Poser Construction, of Lodi, California, in an
amount not to exceed 920,000, for a total contract amount not to exceed $40,000.
