SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2019
A. Call to Order / Roll Call
The Special City Council meeting of October 21, 2019, held at Hutchins Street Square,
125 South Hutchins Street, Lodi, was called to order at 6:01 p.m.
Present: Council Member Mounce, and Council Member Nakanishi
Absent: Council Member Johnson, Mayor Pro Tempore Kuehne, and Mayor Chandler
Also Present: City Manager Schwabauer, City Attorney Magdich, and City Clerk Ferraiolo
B. Topic(s)
B-1 Conduct AB 1661, Harassment Training for Members of the City Council, City Council
Appointees, and City Department Heads (CM)
Gage Dungy with Liebert Cassidy Whitmore conducted harassment prevention training as
mandated by AB 1661 and codified in Government Code Section 53237 for the City Council,
Council Appointees, and Department Heads. Training materials used for the session were
provided to participants and made part of the record. Topics covered included overview of laws
and policies related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; protected classifications and
bullying/abusive conduct in the workplace; what is unlawful discrimination, harassment, and
retaliation; types of unlawful harassment; duties of a supervisor; and addressing unlawful
discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace. Anyone who missed the training
session will be required to take the two-hour on-line course.
C. Adjournment
There being no further action required, the meeting adjourned at roughly 8:07 p.m.
