BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Teichert Construction, of Stockton, on June 17, 1998, in the amount of $2,822,243.50, however, this total included an optional bid item for sidewalk on Beckman Road. The property owner on New Beckman Road was responsible for the sidewalk costs on New Beckman Road and decided to have the work done at a later date by another contractor. Teichert Construction's actual contract price without the optional bid item was $2,781,490.00. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by the City Council. The no -parking restrictions are necessary to accommodate the striping that was installed with the interchange project. The no -parking signs were posted as part of the project. The contract completion date was August 5, 1999, and the actual completion date was August 5, 1999. The final contract price was $2,825,492.07. The difference between the contract amount and the final contract price is mainly due to revisions to the traffic control plan for the project, additional utility work in New Beckman Road, a change in the design of the sidewalk through the underpass, disposal of lead contaminated soil, and other miscellaneous items of work.
