RECOMMENDED ACTION Rescind resolution No. 2019-59 and adopt resolution approving
201912020 Citywide Pavement Repair Project for Road Repair and
Accountability Act oÍ 2017 funding.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, Senate Bill 1
(SB1), will provide the City with State transportation funding through
an increase in the Gas Tax.
On April 17,2019 City Council adopted Resolution No. 2019-59 approving201912020 Citywide
Pavement Repair Project for Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 funding per SB1 guidelines.
Resolution No. 2019-59 was modeled after the prior year's resolution and was submitted to the California
Transportation Commission (CTC) for approval. Staff was subsequently advised that the request was
rejected because certain information regarding the project description, project location, project estimate,
and project schedule were not clearly stated in the resolution.
To assure the resolution met the new requirements; staff prepared a revised draft resolution and
received a pre-approvalfrom CTC. CTC requested the amended resolution be adopted by the City
Council to meet the SB1 guidelines.
Staff recommends rescinding resolution No. 2019-59 and adopting resolution approving 201912020
Citywide Pavement Repair Project for Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 funding.
FISCAL IMPAGT: Not applicable.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: Funding will be included in the proposed Fiscal Year 2019/20 budget.
