HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 89-62 RESOLUTION NO. 89-62 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE REVISED CLASS SPECIFICATIONS FOR ENGINE ERING TECHNICIAN SUPERVISOR RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby approve the revised class specifications for Engineering Technician Supervisor, as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto and thereby made a part hereof. Performs highly responsible sub-professional offi ce ,md field engineering work. Works independently in one or rrore engine ering functions such as design, and surveying. DISTINGUISHINGC..l--!lllThCI'ERISTICS: This is the supervisory sub-professional engineering class. Positionsin this class are distinguished frcrn the Engineering Technician II class by their supervisory responsibilit y and that they are expected to work independently on canplex technical tasks, TIie Engineering Technician Supervisor generally [X)Ssesses extensive k..,owledge in one or nnre specialized engineering areas. SUPERVISION EXERCISED P..1:-11) RECEI'JED: Receives di rectio n fro-n the Chief Civil Engineer. Exercises direct supervision over Engineering 'I'ed1nicians and others as assigned. EYJIMPLES OF DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Craws maps, construction plans, exhibits and other Engineering drawings with the use of a microcanputer and canputer aided drafting system. Plans, rronitors, evaluates work ancl trai ns subordinate tec hnicians. Assists in the administration and develoµnent of the assigned section budget. Does a variety of EngiI1ee-:::-ing calculations with the aid of a progran-ID2d calculator. Purchases necessary suppiies and materials . Resr:onsible for maintaining and updati ng accurate records, field notes and progress �efX)rts. Detenn.ines and lays out controls for aerial phot.ogramnetr.y. Draft s a va riety of Engineering drawings manually including tracing, .; nking and layouts. SURVEY Pl\.RI'Y: Supervises assistants, coordinates scheduling with contractors and property CM:ners, and records accurate survey data. Performs toIXJgraphic surveying, using electronic equiµrent, setting li nes, qrades and taking neasurarents.
