AGENDA TITLE: Approve Plans and Specifications and Authorize Advertisement for Bids for
Fire Station 3 Reroof Project, 2141 South Ham Lane
MEETING DATE: November 6, 2002

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the plans and specifications for the Fire
Station 3 Reroof Project, 2141 South Ham Lane, and authorize
advertising for bids.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Fire Station 3 was constructed in 1967. The roof is comprised of
three areas. The apparatus bay roof area was replaced in 1996. A
roof survey performed in 1997 confirmed that the remaining two
areas of roof have exceeded their useful life and are candidates for
priority replacement. The remaining two areas of roof total approximately 3,000 square feet.
The plans and specifications are on file in the Public Works Department.
FUNDING: The money for this project will be coming from the Capital Improvement Replacement
Fund. A request for appropriation of funds will be made at contract award.
Project Estimate $26,570
Budgeted: 2001/02 fiscal year
Planned Bid Opening Date: December 4, 2002
