RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt resolution accepting donation of $8,596.31 from the
Lodi Public Library Foundation for improved Internet
connectivity and appropriating funds.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The library has a need to update Internet WiFi access
points for its patrons. Currently there are two outdated
access points. The Lodi Public Library Foundation has
generously donated $8,596.31 to the City for use in its purchase of five new access points and a
new switch that will allow the computers in the Teens@201 area to have access to library
resources.
Staff requests Council accept the Lodi Public Library Foundation's donation and appropriate
funds of $8,596.31 for the purchase of five Internet access points and a switch for the library.
FISCAL IMPACT: None by using grant funds for the purchase. Nominally
higher operating costs to maintain hardware.

LODI PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Lodi Public Library Foundation has graciously donated $8,596.31 towards the purchase of
five new Internet access points and a new switch for the Teen Scene at the Lodi Public Library.
The Lodi Public Library Foundation board approved donating the amount of $8,596.31 to cover
the cost of 5 new Internet access points and a new switch for the Teen Scene Check number
101 in the amount of $8,596.31 was issued to the Lodi Public Library on March 6, 2019.

RESOLUTION NO. 2019-45
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTING A
DONATION FROM THE LODI PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION
TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF FIVE INTERNET ACCESS POINTS
AND A NEW SWITCH FOR THE LODI PUBLIC LIBRARY; AND
FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Lodi Public Library Foundation, a California non-profit corporation, has
generously donated $8,596.31 to the City for use in its purchase of five new internet access
points for library patrons and a new switch for the Teen Scene; and
WHEREAS, funding was donated by the Lodi Public Library Foundation to allow library
patrons greater access to the internet via their personal devices, as well as add a new switch to
the City's data chain for networked public access computers to be placed in the Teen Scene at
the Lodi Public Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby accept
a donation of $8,596.31 from the Lodi Public Library Foundation into Library donations revenue
account No. 1200000.57702 towards the purchase of five internet access points and a new
switch for the Teen Scene at the Lodi Public Library; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby appropriate funds
in the amount of $8,596.31 to account No. 12090000.72359.
