BACKGROUND INFORMATION Seventeen garden lovers met in November 1946 and started the Lodi Garden Club. By the end of the next month, membership stood at 100. Lodi City Hall, the American Legion building, Micke Grove Park, Lodi Memorial Hospital, Legion Park, Caltrans, the San Joaquin County Historical Museum, Hutchins Street Square and Lodi Lake Park have all benefited from their beautification efforts. The rose garden planted in the senior wing patio at Hutchins Street Square in 1991 continues to provide brilliant color, and the club began maintaining the decorative plants at the entrance to Lodi Lake Park in 2003.
