HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2019-31RESOLUTION NO. 2019-31 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR CHURCH STREET ROAD DIET PROJECT, FUNDED BY MEASURE K BICYCLE, PEDESTRIAN, AND SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOL COMPETITIVE PROGRAM WHEREAS, San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) administers the Measure K regional sales tax program, in accordance with the Measure K renewal Strategic Plan; and WHEREAS, Measure K provides funding for a variety of projects, including Bicycle, Pedestrian and Safe Routes to School improvements and are available to communities which demonstrate the need for bicycle and pedestrian safety projects that meet the funding requirements; and WHEREAS, staff submitted the competitive funding application in 2017 and was awarded $1,459,935 for the Church Street Road Diet Project; a 10 percent match using local funds is required for this grant; and prior to receiving Competitive Measure K funds, SJCOG requires that a Cooperative Agreement be signed and submitted; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute a Cooperative Agreement for Church Street Road Diet Project, funded by Measure K Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Safe Route to School Competitive Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute a Cooperative Agreement for the Church Street Road Diet Project, funded by Measure K Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Safe Route to School Competitive Program.
