HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2018-209RESOLUTION NO. 2018-209 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AUTHORIZE A GRANT APPLICATION SUBMITTAL FOR A NEW ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLE THROUGH SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT'S PUBLIC BENEFIT GRANTS PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Lodi is a public agency located in the County of San Joaquin, State of California; and WHEREAS, the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District provides funding opportunities under several components of its Public Benefit Grants Program to local public agencies; and WHEREAS, the Public Benefit Grants Program is intended to bring into alignment the objectives of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and the needs faced by local public governmental agencies. This component provides funding for the purchase of new alternative -fueled vehicles; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department provides emergency medical services at various community events, such as the semi-annual Street Faire, Parade of Lights, and Fourth of July at Lodi Lake, and the addition of a Utility Task Vehicle would alleviate the challenge of patient access and transport due to limited space, varied terrain, and large crowds. Other potential uses include providing access to the river, whether in Lodi Lake Park or outside; and WHEREAS, if awarded, the term of the contract is a three-year commitment in which the City will be responsible to have existing charging/fueling infrastructure to accommodate the new vehicle, maintain replacement value insurance for the vehicle, and properly maintain the new vehicle according to the manufacturer's recommendations; and WHEREAS, the department would increase its expenditures in an amount not to exceed $20,000 (10041000.77040) as well as increase revenues (10041000.56007) in an amount not to exceed $20,000 with a net impact of zero dollars on the operating budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to authorize a grant application submittal for a new alternative fuel vehicle through San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
