Lodi LOOK:
This program operates at Lawrence and Heritage Elementary school. The City of Lodi and the Lodi
Unified School District are working together as a collaborative effort through an After School Learning
and Safe Neighborhoods grant. This activity has an Educational Component in that the children are
taught for an hour everyday. The enrollment is 100 and participants are in grades K- 61 and are
supervised from 2:45 — 6:00pm, Monday — Friday.
Before School Playground Program:
We tried to start this program at Beckman Elementary school, but their was not enough participants
enrolled. We are working with the L.U.S.D. to possibly start at Vinewood School in September.
Easter Egg Hunt:
On April 22, over 200 children enjoyed hunting for eggs at Lawrence Elementary School. The
Kiwanis Club of Lodi made a pancake breakfast in the New Auditorium.
San Joaquin County Human Services Grants:
Extra Teacher: An additional teacher is needed at the Lodi LOOK program at Heritage school. I
wrote and received the funding to hire a teacher for 7.5 hours a week for two years.
Camp Lodi Lake: Each week the county is sending one of their community centers to our program.
Grant Plath, Parks Program Coordinator and I created a program and budget to suit their needs for 7
weeks of camp, approximately 50 children a week. And starting August 9, 3 sessions were added
for the Lodi children.
ArtWORKyes: This pilot program was awarded to Heritage School to introduce the participants to
Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Music. Each component will be a 6 -week long class.
