HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 93-06 RESOLUTION NO. 93-06 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF VARIOUS SIZES OF POLEMOUNT TRANSFORMERS FOR THE ELECTRIC UTILITY DEPARTMENT ======================================================================= WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on December 15, 1992 at 11:00 a.m. for the bid for the purchase of various sizes of polernount transformers for the Electric Utility Department, described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council on November 4, 1992; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as shown on Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award of the bid for be made to the two responsible bidders whose proposals and equipment met City specifications, and whose transformers yielded the lowest overall life-cycle costs in each rating category, to wit: Westinghouse Electric Supply Co., Concord, CA 3 ea 25KVA 120/240V Circuit-protected 12 ea S0KVA 120/240V Circuit-protected 6 ea 37.SKVA 120/240V Conventional 9 ea S0KVA 120/240V Conventional Kuhlman Transformers, Versailles, KY 12 ea 37.SKVA 120/240V Circuit-Protected Total, all sizes $1,907.17 10,525.02 3,251.89 7,020.99 $22,705.07 $ 9,813.87 $32,518.94 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that award of bid for the above-described polernount transformers be and the same· is hereby awarded to the two above-described responsible bidders, in the total amount of $32,518.94. A subsequent retraction of its standard terms and conditions which were inconflict with the City's bid specifications was submitted after the bidopening by a GE representative who may not be authorized under the terms andconditions to make such a retraction. General Electric's bid must therefore be deemed non-responsive and subjectto disqualification. (2)Westinghouse Electric's 37.5KVA unit height of 47" exceeds specified equtp­ment height maximum of 45".
