AGENDA TITLE: Accept Improvements Under Contract for Parks and Recreation Department
Restroom Accessibility Retrofit, 125 North Stockton Street
MEETING DATE: June 7, 2000
PREPARED BY: Public Works Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Parks and
Recreation Department Restroom Accessibility Retrofit,
125 North Stockton Street" contract and direct the City Engineer to
file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Advantage Construction, of Stockton,
on November 3, 1999, in the amount of $38,401.00. The contract
has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and
specifications approved by the City Council.
The contract completion date and the actual completion date was March 10, 2000. The final contract
price was $40,136.44. The difference between the contract amount and the final contract price is
mainly due to extra costs involved in placing vinyl flooring in the mechanical room, changing the lighting
fixtures in the women's restroom to fluorescent lighting, and performing the demolition portion of the
work on a weekend.
FUNDING: Budgeted Fund: 1997/98 Community Development Block Grant Funds
Contract Amount: $40,136.44
