A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL WAIVING THE
BID PROCESS AND APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE
HIGH-CAPACITY ALL-WHEEL DRIVE MANITOU MSI 25
VERTICAL MAST FORKLIFT FROM HOLT OF CALIFORNIA, OF
SACRAMENTO, UTILIZING NATIONAL JOINT POWER
ALL¡ANCE CONTRACT NO. 10186-MA¡
WHEREAS, Vehicle No. 04-113 was purchased used in 2010 from Valley Forklift for
91 2,807 and preventative maintenance costs are approximately $1 ,148 and repair costs to date
are $19,034; and
WHEREAS, the current forklift is 16 years old, no longer meets the needs of the
department, and is being replaced with a forklift using a clean burning diesel engine; and
WHEREAS, per Lodi Municipal Code Section 3.20.045, State and Local Agency
Contracts, the bidding process may be waived when it is advantageous for the City, with
appropriate approval by City Manager and City Council, to use contracts that have been
awarded by other California public agencies, provided that their award was in compliance with
their formally-adopted bidding or negotiation procedures; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends waiving the bid process and approving the purchase of
one Manitou MSI 25 Vertical Mast Forklift from Holt of California, of Sacramento, in the amount
of $52,028, utilizing the National Joint Power Alliance (NJPA) Contract No. 10186-MAl.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby waive
the bid process and approve the purchase of one high-capacity all-wheel drive Manitou MSI 25
Vertical Mast Forklift from Holt of California, of Sacramento, in the amount of $52,028, utilizing
NJPA Contract No. 10186-MAl.
