BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's Office received notification of several vacancies on various boards and commissions. In addition, five terms are due to expire shortly on the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission. Therefore, it is recommended that the City Council direct the City Clerk to post for the following vacancies and expiring terms: Lodi Arts Commission Tim Mattheis Term to expire July 1, 2001 Lesley Muscha Term to expire July 1, 2002 Lodi Senior Citizens Commission Shelby Young Term to expire December 31, 2001 Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission Andrea Daniel Term to expire August 30, 2000 Ashleigh Krueger Term to expire August 30, 2000 Summer Pennino Term to expire August 30, 2000 Julia Rough Term to expire August 30, 2000 Alisha Thawley Term to expire August 30, 2000 Robert Hoffman Term to expire August 30, 2001 San Joaauin Countv Commission on Acina Dorance Ochs Term to expire June 30, 2000 State statute requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens interested in serving to submit an application. I, therefore, will be resigning from the Lodi Setuor Citizens Commission as of April 30, 2000 when I change my occupational service from seniors to women and children. It would be my recommendation that the council select Shannon Bettencourt, the LOEL Senior Center's new Senior Administrator to fill the empty position. She will be in contact with your office in April to request an application. I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to serve the community in this capacity and I look forward to continuing to serve in my new role as Executive Director of the Lodi House. Therefore I will not be seeking reappointment to the County Commission on Aging when my current appointment expires on 30 June 2000. I very strongly recommend that Tend Whitmire be considered for appointment to the County Commission on Aging as the representative from Lodi, Terri is ususually well versed concerning the many faceted functions of the commission , as a result of her position with the Lodi Adult Day Care Center. Terri has also been deeply involved in many other senior functions during the immediate past, all of which renders her fully qualified in my esteem, to serve as the representative of Lodi on the County Commission on Aging. This matter has been discussed with Terri and she is willing to accept the appointment.
