RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve specifications and authorize advertisement for bids for
2018-2020 Landscape Maintenance of Miscellaneous Areas and Lodi
Consolidated Landscape District No. 2003-1.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project provides for the continued maintenance of landscaped
areas in the public right-of-way, public buildings, parking lots, White
Slough Water Pollution Control Facility, various assessment Zones,
and Rose Gate Park. There are approximately 300 sites totaling approximately 55 acres in area.
The two-year contract consists of seven separate maintenance types with varying ranges of service
frequencies as listed below. In general, all locations include quarterly shrub pruning. The groups will be
awarded together as one contract.
Group A — Turf, Shrub and/or Tree Areas: Biweekly (Weekly, April through September)
Group B — Shrub and/or Tree Areas: Once per Month
Group C — Sidewalk and Tree Wells Areas: Once per Month
Group D — Sidewalk/Concrete Only (weed control and debris cleanup): Once per Month
Group E — Assessment District Areas: Weekly
Group F — Downtown School Street Areas: Biweekly
Group G — Park Areas: Biweekly (Weekly, Late February through November)
The specifications are on file in the Public Works Department. The planned bid opening date is
May 9, 2018. The contract estimate is $510,000 over the two-year term. Project award is anticipated on
June 6, 2018.
FISCAL IMPACT:
FUNDING AVAILABLE:
Staff anticipates an increase in bid prices associated with State minimum
wage increases.
Funding is separated into multiple sources (by area) that will be identified at
project award. This project is included in the Fiscal Year 2018/19 budget
and will be include in the Fiscal Year 2019/2020 budget.
