BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project included a temporary traffic signal with street light improvements at the Harney Lane and Mills Avenue intersection (Exhibit A). Permanent signal improvements will be developer - funded as development occurs to the south of Harney Lane. This project also modified the south side of the intersection to improve access to an existing, City -owned, wastewater lift station from Harney Lane. The contract was awarded to Tim Paxin's Pacific Excavation, Inc., of Elk Grove, in the amount of $218,455, on June 21, 2017. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by City Council on April 19, 2017. The contract completion date was February 2, 2018. The final contract price was $223,905. The difference between the original contract amount and final contract amount is due to additional work to replace a curb ramp at the northeast corner of Harney Lane and Mills Avenue that was previously damaged. Photos of the completed work are shown in Exhibit B. Following acceptance by the City Council, as required by law, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office. The notice serves to notify vendors and subcontractors that the project is complete and begins their 30 -day period to file a stop notice requiring the City to withhold payments from the prime contractor in the event of a payment dispute FISCAL IMPACT: There will be a slight increase in the long-term maintenance costs associated with these improvements. FUNDING AVAILABLE: This project is funded by Fiscal Year 2016/2017 Transportation Development Act Street and Road (30599000.77020). few CI`(arle E. wimley Jr. Public Works Director Prepared by Dorothy Kam, Associate Traffic Engineer CES/DK/tdb Attachments cc: Engineering Technician II, J.
