HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2017-210RESOLUTION NO. 2017-210 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE 35 -FOOT COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS, LOW -FLOOR TROLLEY FROM GILLIG, LLC, OF LIVERMORE, UTILIZING LIVERMORE AMADOR VALLEY TRANSIT AUTHORITY CONTRACT (RFP NO. 2015-08); AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS; AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, in 2010, City Council approved submittal of the Program Expenditure Plan to San Joaquin Council of Government and Caltrans for the Proposition 1B transit program funds, including trolley replacement in Fiscal Year 2013/14; however, due to delays in transportation bond sales, funds were received in February 2017; and WHEREAS, the new 35 -foot, low -floor, compressed natural gas (CNG) -fueled bus, which will be equipped with a Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) -compliant ramp instead of a lift, making passenger loading and exiting safer and faster, will replace the existing 2001 45 -foot Champlain trolley; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing purchase of one 35 -foot CNG, low -floor trolley from Gillig, LLC, of Livermore, in the amount of $663,269, utilizing the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority Contract (RFP No. 2015-08); and WHEREAS, staff also recommends authorizing the Public Works Director to execute all necessary documents; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends that the City Council appropriate funds in the amount of $114,000, from TDA fund balance (60199000) for Fiscal Year 2017/18. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize purchase of one 35 -foot compressed natural gas, low -floor trolley from Gillig, LLC, of Livermore, California, in the amount of $663,269, utilizing the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority Contract (RFP No. 2015-08); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the Public Works Director to execute all necessary documents; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Lodi City Council does hereby authorize an appropriation for the purchase in the amount of $114,000, as set forth above.
