AGENDA TITLE: Post for Expiring Terms on the Lodi Improvement Committee

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Direct the City Clerk to post for expiring terms on the Lodi
Improvement Committee.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: There are three expiring terms on the Lodi Improvement Committee.
It is recommended that the City Council direct the City Clerk to post
the openings on the Lodi Improvement Committee for 30 days.
Government Code Section 54970 et seq. requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens
interested in serving to submit an application.
Lodi improvement Committee
Doug Bojack Term to expire March 1, 2018
Fran Forkas Term to expire March 1, 2018
Curtis Juran Term to expire March 1, 2018

ANNOUNCEMENT
Three (3) Expiring Terms on
the Lodi Improvement Committee
The City of Lodi is currently accepting applications for
the Lodi Improvement Committee (LIC), created
to maintain and improve the quality of life and
appearance of Lodi by the coordinated efforts of a broad
spectrum of the community.
The LIC meets at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd Tuesday of each
month at the Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine Street, and
consists of 5 members, each serving 3 -year terms.
Applications are now being accepted to fill three (3)
expiring three-year terms; the new terms will expire
March 1, 2021.
Applications are available online at
www.Iodi.gov/clerk/BoardsCommissions. For more
information call 333-6702.
Appointment to the committee will be made by the
Mayor with Council approval.
Note: You must be registered to vote in San Joaquin
County at the time of application. If appointed, you will be
required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest.
This is a volunteer, unpaid position.
Filing Deadline: Monday, February 26, 2018, 5:30 p.m.

expires March 1, 2018. The City Council, at its regular meeting of January 17, 2018, directed the City
Clerk to post for this expiring term. If you are interested in seeking reappointment for an additional
three-year term, please complete an application form online at
http://www.Lodi.qov/clerk/BoardsCommissions.html. This document will act as your request for
reappointment and also serve to update our records.
The deadline to file an application for the current recruitment process is Monday, February 26,
2018, by 5:30 p.m. in the City Clerk's Office. If we do not receive your application by the deadline, we
will assume that you are not interested in being considered for reappointment.
