AGENDA TITLE: Authorization To Disband The Information Technology Committee
MEETING DATE: February 16, 2000

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council authorize, by motion action, the disbanding of the
Information Technology Committee.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On August 12, 1999, the Information Technology Committee (ITC)
unanimously voted to recommend to the City Council the disbanding of ITC.
In addition, the ITC further voted to postpone any future monthly meetings
until receiving direction from the City Council.
The ITC has reached its original task of putting Lodi onto the Internet, and has since acted as a support role to the City
in the area of information technology.
It is, therefore, recommended that the City Council concur with the committee's recommendation and authorize the
disbanding of the ITC.

Enclosed please find a certified copy of Resolution No. 2000-20 entitled, "A
Resolution Of The Lodi City Council Authorizing The Information Technology
Committee To Disband", which was adopted by the Lodi City Council at its
meeting of February 16, 2000.
On behalf of the Lodi City Council and the citizens of this community, may I
express our sincere appreciation to you for your dedicated service as a member
of the Information Technology Committee.
It is truly gratifying to see citizens so willing to give their time toward the
betterment and enrichment of their community. To thank you for sharing your
talents with us, I would respectfully request that you attend the City Council
meeting of March 1, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in order to be recognized and to receive a
Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor.

attend the meeting.

RESOLUTION NO. 2000-20
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING
THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE TO DISBAND

WHEREAS, the Information Technology Committee has reached its original goal
of putting Lodi on the Internet and has since acted as a support role to the City in the
area of information technology; and
WHEREAS, on August 12, 1999 the Information Technology Committee voted
unanimously to recommend to the City Council the disbanding of the Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lodi
hereby authorizes the disbanding of the Information Technology Committee.
