BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Lodi's Transit System has been in service since 1978. Through the years, the Transit System has experienced many changes and continues to evolve into a reliable and cost effective alternative form of transportation that many of our citizens use on a daily basis. The City's Transit System provides a daily fixed route bus system (GrapeLine), and door to door American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit service (VineLine), and Dial -A -Ride (DAR) service for the general public (including discounted fares for seniors/disabled/Medicare) within city limits and other areas adjacent to the City. The Public Works Department will discuss various transit related topics associated with the City's Transit system (Exhibit A) while conducting a guided tour of potential downtown shuttle routes. The downtown shuttle is a concept being considered to provide public transportation within the downtown area during certain times on weekdays and weekends (Exhibit B). Visits to the Transit Station and a new bus shelter are also scheduled, if time permits. The tour, which leaves the Carnegie Forum at 7 a.m., is intended to provide the Council an opportunity to experience the potential downtown shuttle routes, the recent Transit Station restroom remodel, and for Staff to answer transit related questions. A City transit bus will provide transportation. FISCAL IMPACT: Not applicable. FUNDING AVAILABLE: Not applicable. 1. Charles E.
