SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
CARNEGIE FORUM, 305 WEST PINE STREET
TUESDAY, MAY 23, 2017
A. Roll call
The Special Joint Meeting of the City Council and the Lodi Arts Commission of May 23,
2017, held at Hutchins Street Square, 125 South Hutchins Street, Lodi, was called to order at
5:30 p.m.
Present: Council Member Chandler, Council Member Johnson, Council Member Mounce,
Mayor Pro Tempore Nakanishi, and Mayor Kuehne
Absent: None
Also Present: City Manager Schwabauer, City Attorney Magdich, and City Clerk Ferraiolo
NOTE: Council Member Mounce left the meeting at 6:36 p.m.
Also in attendance from the Lodi Arts Commission were the following: Cathy Metcalf,
Jean Justeau Payne, and Sandi Walker-Tansley
B. Topic(s)
B-1 Discussion of Items of Mutual Concern
With the aid of a PowerPoint presentation, the City Council and Arts Commission briefly
discussed items of mutual concern, including First Friday Art Hop; 2016/17 grant awards;
Taco Truck Cook -Off and proposed changes for this year's event; Blues and Brews event;
2017 Arbor Day; Art in Public Places Advisory Board projects, including traffic control boxes,
Legion Park statue repair, and art dedication piece in memory of Rowland Cheney; and the
Lodi Arts Foundation fundraising and events. Council Members posed questions and commented
on the "Tom Kettleman" traffic control box art project, repainting of the water tower, and the
Kettleman Lane underpass.
C. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
