TM AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Amending Resolution 2017-49 Authorizing Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director to Execute Walk With Ease Grant Certification with California Arthritis Partnership Program MEETING DATE: July 11, 2017 PREPARED BY: Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Adopt resolution amending Resolution 2017-49 authorizing Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director to execute Walk With Ease grant certification with California Arthritis Partnership Program. On April 5, the City Council adopted Resolution 2017-49 authorizing the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director to execute a certification form to receive up to $2,000 for marketing the Walk With Ease program. The California Department of Public Health, which oversees the Program, recently notified Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services that the Resolution 2017-49 did not include all the necessary language. The required change is shown below in bold italics. "NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director to execute the Std. 2013 agreement and Form CCC -307 (Certification) on behalf of the City of Lodi as a condition to receipt of grant funds to market the Walk With Ease program." FISCAL IMPACT: Adopting the amended resolution will provide funds allowing Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services to market the Walk With Ease program. JH:tl cc: City Attorney APPROVED: Jeff H9 Peiks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director wabauer; ity M . nager RESOLUTION NO. 2017-49 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE PARKS, RECREATION AND CULTURAL SERVICES DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE WALK WITH EASE GRANT CERTIFICATION WITH CALIFORNIA ARTHRITIS PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department received a grant, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and awarded by the National Recreation and Parks Association, to train Instructors for the Walk With Ease (WWE) program; and WHEREAS, there are six sessions lasting six weeks each; and WHEREAS, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services was awarded $2,000 by the California Arthritis Partnership Program to offset the cost of marketing and promoting WWE in Lodi; and WHEREAS, the City of Lodi must adopt a Resolution agreeing to Certifications as set forth in Form CCC -307 (Certification). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director to execute Form CCC -307 (Certification) on behalf of the City of Lodi as a condition to receipt of grant funds to market the Walk With Ease program.
