BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project consisted of removing four on -street parking stalls and constructing four Americans with Disabilities Act compliant stalls along Lawrence Avenue, east of Stockton Street, as shown in Exhibit A. The stalls will provide additional accessible parking for activities at the Grape Bowl, Armory Park, and Zupo Field. This location was selected due to its central location and safety considerations for vehicle access. The contract was awarded to Central Valley Engineering & Asphalt, Inc., of Roseville, in the amount of $59,567, on April 19, 2017. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by City Council. Following acceptance by the City Council, as required by law, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office. The notice serves to notify vendors and subcontractors that the project is complete and begins their 30 -day period to file a stop notice requiring the City to withhold payments from the prime contractor in the event of a payment dispute. FISCAL IMPACT: FUNDING AVAILABLE: The project will have a minimal impact on total maintenance costs but will reduce the City's liability associated with accessible parking and continue our effort to increase accessibility citywide. The difference between the original and the final contract amounts ($387.50) was due to a minor field change to the demolition limits in order to match at a concrete expansion joint. This change caused a slight increase in concrete and asphalt patching quantities. Photos of the completed project are attached in Exhibit A.
