HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - April 19, 2017 C-09CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA ITEM C-9 TM AGENDA TITLE: Accept Improvements Under Contract for LED Luminaire Retrofit of Cobra Head Street Lights Project MEETING DATE: April 19, 2017 PREPARED BY: Electric Utility Director RECOMMENDED ACTION Accept improvements under contract for LED Luminaire Retrofit of Cobra Head Street Lights Project. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The contract for the LED Luminaire Retrofit of Cobra Head Street Lights Project was awarded to Tanko Lighting of San Francisco, in an amount not to exceed of $1.5 million on August 5, 2015. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by City Council on March 19, 2014. The project retrofitted all of the City's 5,465 cobra head street lights to energy efficient LED fixtures. The contract was completed in January 2017 and the final cost of the project was $1,485,373.41. Following acceptance by the City Council, as required by law, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office. The notice serves to inform vendors and subcontractors that the project is complete and to initiate the 30 -day period to file a stop notice requiring the City to withhold payments from the prime contractor in the event of a payment dispute. FISCAL IMPACT: Annual energy and maintenance cost savings are estimated at $240,000. FUNDING AVAILABLE: This project was funded through a loan with Farmers and Merchants Bank.
