Well No 25 has a 125 HP electrical motor used to power a pump that can deliver up to 1200
gallons per minute. The motor that needs replacement was original motor installed in 1995.
Staff solicited quotes from three vendors for a replacement motor. The quotes included a price
for the exact replacement motor and a price for a modern comparable motor. Staff agrees that
the lower cost comparable motor would be the best option. The deciding factors are (1) cost
and (2) the new US Electric motor has higher efficiency which would cut down on energy
consumption.
