This year marks the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense program's eighth "National Fix a Leak Week," a time to remind Americans to check their household fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks. Common types of leaks found in the home include leaking toilet flappers, dripping faucets, showerheads, and other leaking valves. Fixing easily -corrected household water Teaks can save homeowners the amount of water used to fill a backyard swimming pool each year and 10 percent or more on their utility costs. Approximately four percent of the nation's electricity consumption is used moving or treating water and wastewater. One of the best ways to save energy across the country and in our own homes is to use water more efficiently. The City of Lodi Public Works Department's Water Conservation Program is designed to reduce demands on the City's water supply by increasing the efficiency of water use within its service area and has been a WaterSense promotional partner since 2010.
