AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of Radio Equipment for Police Partners Program
($10,759.45)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the
bid for the purchase of ten portable radios and six mobile radios for
the Police Partners Program to the low bidder, Lagorio Communi-
cations of Manteca, in the amount of $10,759.45.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On October 6, 1999, the City Council approved specifications and
authorized advertisement for bids. (Subsequent to Council's
approval, Motorola announced the discontinuation of the specified
mobile unit, and bidders were instructed to submit proposals on the
replacement mobile radio, the Motorola Model M1225).
The following bids were received, and were opened on October 20, 1999:
Lagorio Communications, Manteca
$10,759.45
BearCom, Sacramento
$11,400.86
Delta Wireless, Stockton
$11,736.44
Industrial Communications, Modesto
$13,133.32
Because of the continued expansion and success of the Partners Program, these radios are needed to
provide the additional volunteers and patrol units with vital communications equipment.
It is especially noteworthy that, because of the generous support for the Partners Program by the Lodi
community, this purhase is funded entirely by community contributions.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING THE BID FOR RADIO EQUIPMENT FOR
POLICE PARTNERS PROGRAM

WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the
order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on October 20,
1999 at 11:00 a.m. for Ten Portable Radios and Six Mobile Radios for the Police Partners
Program, described in the specifications therefore approved by the City Council on
October 6, 1999; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report
thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the bid for Radio Equipment
for Police Partners Program, be made to the low bidder, Lagorio Communications, of
Manteca, CA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the award of
the bid for Radio Equipment for Police Partners Program, be and the same is hereby
awarded to Lagorio Communications, of Manteca, CA, the low bidder, in the amount of
$10,759.45.
