HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2017-164RESOLUTION NO. 2017 -164 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A DONATION OF CASH FROM THE LODI POLICE FOUNDATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A VEHICLE FOR THE COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER; AND FURTHER =========================i::I?::5'$l'=:::========================== WHEREAS, the Lodi Police Department has created a Community Liaison Officer position to assist with the demands of our growing homeless population; and WHEREAS, the officer's duties include transporting large amounts of personal property, as well as shopping carts and other large items; and WHEREAS, the Department has reviewed several vehicles available under the State of California government vehicle contracts and has priced a Ford F-150 truck at a cost of $28,319.73 from Elk Grove Ford, a State of California contract dealer; and WHEREAS, the vehicle will be outfitted with all necessary emergency equipment, including a computer terminal and secure prisoner transportation, at a cost of $18,196.98, for a total vehicle cost of $46,516.71; and WHEREAS, the Lodi Police Foundation, a California non-profit corporation, desires to donate the sum of 910,000 to the City for the purchase of a 2018 Ford F-150 truck, for use by the Community Liaison Officer; and WHEREAS, this vehicle will replace lnterceptor No. 05-72, a2004 Chevy lmpala. NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED that Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to accept the $10,000 cash donation from the Lodi Police Foundation towards the purchase of a 2018 Ford F-150 truck, for use by the Community Liaison Officer; and BE lT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds in the amount of $10,000 be appropriated for the vehicle purchase from account 43100000.57702; and BE tT FURTHER RESOLVED that additional funding of $25,000 has been allocated and approved in the 2017118 general fund capital budget (43199000 .7704Q); and BE tT FURTHER RESOLVED that additional funding of $11,516.71 has been appropriated and approved in the 2017118 police vehicle replacement fund (40399100.77040) for this purchase. 33:":=:Ti3Pjji=='l]!==================================================== I hereby certify that Resolution No. 2017-164 was passed and adopted by the Lodi City Council in a regular meeting held September 6, 2017, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS - Chandler, Johnson, Mounce, Nakanishi, and Mayor Kuehne NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS - None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS - None ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS - None NIFER Clerk 2017-164 F !-nÆ4^^rÃ4
