BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Golden State Irrigation and Pump Services, of Stockton, on March 4, 2015, in the amount of $19,143.80. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by City Council. This project consisted of furnishing and installing a deep well turbine pump in Well 6R, located at Blakely Park. The contract was completed within the contract schedule. The original contract amount was $19,143.80. The final contract price was $20,417.55. The difference between the contract amount and the final contract price is due to replacing the head shaft, top bearing, and suction screen, which was requested by staff after the equipment was removed and inspected. Photographs of the project work are provided in Exhibit A. Following acceptance by the City Council, as required by law, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office. The notice serves to notify vendors and subcontractors that the project is complete and begins their 30 -day period to file a stop notice requiring the City to withhold payments from the prime contractor in the event of a payment dispute.
