BACKGROUND INFORMATION: As part of the 2014/15 mid -year budget review, Council approved transferring $500,000 of salary savings within the Police Department to the Vehicle Replacement Fund. The Police Department has determined the need to replace 15 vehicles. 10 vehicles were ordered, totaling $353,100, before the end of the 2014/15 fiscal year. The Police Department requests the additional $146,900 to cover the remaining five vehicles be re - appropriated in the current fiscal year so that staff can complete the purchase of the vehicles. RESOLUTION NO. 2015-155 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROPRIATE VEHICLE REPLACEMENT FUNDS WHEREAS, during the 2014/15 mid -year budget review, Council approved transferring $500,000 of salary savings within the Police Department to the Vehicle Replacement Fund; and WHEREAS, the Lodi Police Department has determined the need to replace 15 vehicles. Ten vehicles were ordered, totaling $353,100 before the end of the 2014/15 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the Lodi Police Department requests an additional $146,900 to cover the remaining five vehicles, to be re -appropriated in the current fiscal year so that staff can complete the purchase of the vehicles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to appropriate vehicle replacement funds in the amount of $146,900 for the purchase of five police vehicles.
