AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Authorizing City Manager to Accept Donation of Vehicles from
The Lodi Police Partners' Foundation and Designating Disposition When the
Vehicles are Retired from City's Vehicle Fleet

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to accept donation
of vehicles from The Lodi Police Partners' Foundation and
designating disposition when the vehicles are retired from city's
vehicle fleet.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Lodi Police Partners' Foundation, a California non-profit
corporation, has over the past several years donated several
vehicles to the City for use in its Lodi Police Partners' Program.
These vehicles are integral to the Partners' Program and staff acknowledges the financial commitment
the Foundation has made to the success of the Program.
Currently the City has three vehicles donated by the Foundation in its vehicle fleet, described as:
1. 2008 Dodge, License No. 1429579, VIN 1 D7HA18NX8S585228;
2. 2005 Ford, License No. 1252951, VIN 2FAFFP74W05X166286; and
3. 2007 Ford, License No. 1359280, VIN 2FMZA52227BA04300.
Staff requests that the Council accept the donation of the above-described vehicles from the Foundation
and that in consideration for the donation City agree that when each of the vehicles are retired from City's
vehicle fleet that the proceeds from the sale or auction thereof will be made payable to the Lodi Police
Partners' Foundation, or alternatively title to the retired vehicle will be transferred to the Lodi Police
Partners' Foundation, to facilitate the Foundation's continued financial support of the Lodi Police
Partners' Program.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT
DONATION OF VEHICLES FROM THE LODI
POLICE PARTNERS' FOUNDATION; AND
FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Lodi Police Partners' Foundation, a California non-profit
corporation, has over the past several years donated several vehicles to the City of Lodi
for use in its Lodi Police Partners Program; and
WHEREAS, the City has received the following described vehicles from the Lodi
Police Partners' Foundation, all of which are a part of the City's current vehicle fleet:
1. 2008 Dodge, License No. 1429579, VIN 1 D7HA18NX8S585228
2. 2005 Ford, License No. 1252951, VIN 2FAFFP74W05X166286
3. 2007 Ford, License No. 1359280, VIN 2FMZA52227BA04300
WHEREAS, City agrees to accept the donation of the above-described vehicles
from the Lodi Police Partners' Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the Foundation desires to donate the sum of $22,417.03 to the City
for the purchase of a 2015 Chevrolet LS Equinox for use in the Partners' Program; and
WHEREAS, in consideration for the donation of said vehicles, City agrees that
when each of the vehicles are retired from City's vehicle fleet that the proceeds from the
sale or auction thereof will be made payable to the Lodi Police Partners' Foundation, or
alternatively title to the vehicle will be transferred to the Lodi Police Partners'
Foundation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
authorize the City Manager to accept the donation of the above-described vehicles and
cash donation of $22,417.03 for the purchase of a 2015 Chevrolet LS Equinox for use in
the Partners' Program from the Lodi Police Partners' Foundation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that when each of the above-described vehicles,
including the vehicle to be purchased, and all future vehicles purchased by donated
funds from the Lodi Police Partners' Foundation, are retired from City's vehicle fleet, that
the proceeds from the sale or auction of the same will be returned to the Lodi Police
Partners' Foundation, or alternatively title to the vehicle will be transferred to the Lodi
Police Partners' Foundation, to facilitate the Foundation's continued financial support of
the Partners' Program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds in the amount of $22,417.03 be
appropriated for the vehicle purchase as shown on the attached Appropriation Request
Form.
