BACKGROUND INFORMATION: At its November 18, 1998 meeting, the City Council authorized the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the G -Basin Drainage Area Study. Due to workload priorities, we have not issued the RFP. Since November 18, 1998, the City retained Harris & Associates to assist in development plan review and other engineering tasks. We discussed with Harris the possibility of having them prepare the RFP and they recommended Stantec Consulting Inc. Stantec has worked with Harris on numerous storm drainage studies for other local agencies. Staff interviewed Stantec and feels they have the necessary experience in storm drainage design to perform the study for the City. Staff has examined Stantec's proposal and agreement and feels that the contract price is reasonable. Moving forward will save both time and money on this project. This is an important first phase in development of the G-Basin/DeBenedetti Sports Complex on Lower Sacramento Road at future Century Boulevard extension.
