HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - April 1, 2015 C-05AGENDA ITEM Goo5 CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION TM AGENDA TITLE: Approve Specifications and Authorize Advertisement for Bids for 2015-2017 Sidewalk and Miscellaneous Concrete Repair Program MEETING DATE: April 1, 2015 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve specifications and authorize advertisement for bids for 2015-2017 Sidewalk and Miscellaneous Concrete Repair Program, BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will provide the City with a unit -price bid for removing and/or constructing curb, gutter, sidewalk, and curb ramps in various locations throughout the city. This is a two-year contract to repair damaged concrete sidewalk, construct curb ramps, remove potential tripping hazards, and repair curb and gutter as needed during Fiscal Years 2015/16 and 2016/17. Provisions in the specifications allow the City to extend the contract up to two two-year extensions, if it is mutually agreed upon by City staff and the contractor. The specifications are on file in the Public Works Department. The planned bid opening date is May 13, 2015. The total project estimate is $200,000 ($100,000 annually). FISCAL IMPACT: This contract is a key component in the Streets and Drainage Division's ability to perform necessary maintenance. It also minimizes the risk of liability associated with damaged and/or non-compliant concrete improvements. FUNDING AVAILABLE: Funding will be identified at the time of project award. .jo( F.
