BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The street master plan for Lower Sacramento Road includes parking restrictions to accommodate the four through lanes, shared shoulder/bike lanes, dedicated turn lanes, and landscaped median. Currently, "no parking" restrictions exist on Lower Sacramento Road between the WID Canal and Turner Road. We are requesting City Council approve "no parking" on the remaining segment, from the WID Canal to Kettleman Lane, at this time. At its December 1, 1999 meeting, City Council adopted an ordinance restricting vehicles for sale on public streets, with certain conditions. At this location, staff recommends replacing the vehicles -for -sale - restriction signs north of Vine Street with the no -parking signs at this time to avoid any confusion. Staff will post the remaining no -parking areas as the need arises. FUNDING: Funding for the no -parking restriction I come from Street Fund. 11 Richard C.
