RECOMMENDED ACTION Adopt resolution authorizing purchase of 2014 Vac-Con Combination
Sewer and Storm Drain Cleaner from Municipal Maintenance
Equipment, of Sacramento, in the amount of $397,066.32.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Unit No. 04-038, a 1998 Vac-Con Combination Sewer and Drain
Cleaner (Exhibit A), has exceeded the life expectancy for this type
of equipment. Total repair costs for Unit No. 04-038 are
$263,537.01, and the equipment is outdated. The vehicle has become unreliable, spending the majority
of the time in the shop.
Staff recommends replacing Unit No. 04-038 with a 2014Yac-Con Combination Sewer and Storm Drain
Cleaner from Municipal Maintenance Equipment, utilizing Governmental National Joint Powers Alliance
Contract No. 022014-AMl.
Per Lodi Municipal Code Section 3.20.045, State and LocalAgency Contracts, the bidding process may
be waived when it is advantageous for the City, with appropriate approval by the City Manager and
City Council, to use contracts that have been awarded by other California public agencies, provided that
their award was in compliance with their formally-adopted bidding or negotiation procedures.
F¡SCAL IMPACT:The budget expense will assist the Municipal Utility Services Division in its
continuing efforts to maintain the City of Lodi's infrastructure.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: Wastewater Capital Equipment Fund (1711201): $397,066.32

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 2OI4 VAC-CON
COMBINATION SEWER AND STORM DRAIN CLEANER
FROM MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT,
UTILIZING GOVERNMENTAL NATIONAL JOINT
POWERS ALLIANCE CONTRACT NO. 022014-AMI
WHEREAS, Unit No. 04-038, a 1998 Vac-Con Combination Sewer and Drain
Cleaner, has exceeded the life expectancy for this type of equipment; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends replacing Unit No. 04-038 with a 2014 Vac-Con
Combination Sewer and Storm Drain Cleaner from Municipal Maintenance Equipment,
utilizing Governmental National Joint Powers Alliance Contract No. 022014-AMl; and

authorize the purchase of a 2014Vac-Con Combination Sewer and Storm Drain Cleaner
from Municipal Maintenance Equipment, of Sacramento, California, in the amount of
9397,066.32, utilizing Governmental National Joint Power Alliance Contract
No. 022014-AMl.
