BAGKGROUND INFORMATION: On May 7,2014, the City Council approved specifications and fi T'[,ü1iJ,i3J:l;:".H#iüiJiJ;üäifff il?i:T[:,1:"'" Utility's (EU) Geographical lnformation System (GlS). This equipment will provide essential tools for a more effective, time-saving manner to complete mandated inspection cycles of the electric system by providing EU field crews with nine rugged, user-friendly tablet devices, thus automating the inspection process. Cost savings will be realized through improved operational efficiency, with increased safety, and more timely knowledge of system maintenance needs, thus creating a more reliable electric system by mitigating power outages. ln addition, the tablet devices will replace field staffs' existing computers which will then be used to replace obsolete devices currently assigned to non-field EU functions. The EU advertised bids on May 10 and 14, 2Q14, On May 22, 2014, bids were opened with one supplier submitting a proposal, attached as Exhibit A, from RedLine Solutions, lnc., of Santa Clara in the amount of $41 ,151.20. Staff reviewed their proposal and deemed them compliant with the bid specifications and an authorized licensed supplier for this equipment. Staff hereby recommends the City Council award the bid for the purchase of mobile inspectionireporting equipment from Redline Solutions, lnc., of Santa Clara, in an amount not to exceed $41,200. FISCAL IMPACT: Procurement cost will not exceed $41,200, with time- and cost- savings realized by enabling staff to more quickly identify and resolve system reliability issues. NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby award the bid for the purchase of mobile equipment, as shown on Exhibit A, from Redline Solutions, lnc., of Santa Clara, in an amount not to exceed $41,200.
