A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROVING
AMENDMENTS TO VARIOUS AFSCME MAINTENANCE AND
OPERATOR SALARY RANGES BY ELIMINATING THE SECOND
TIER, AMENDMENTS TO JOB DESCRIPTIONS, AND ADDING
INCENTIVE PAY FOR WATER PLANT OPERATORS WHO
POSSESS WATER DISTRIBUTION OPERATOR CERTIFICATES

WHEREAS, Council approved revisions to the Memorandum of Understanding with
AFSCME Maintenance and Operators unit, January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2017, which
included a provision to discuss elimination of the two-tier salary structure for classifications,
modification to job descriptions to incorporate required certifications and consistent language,
and to review and adjust salary for Water Plant Operators; and
WHEREAS, representatives from the City and AFSCME reached a tentative agreement
for elimination of the two-tier salary structure, amendments to various job descriptions to
include required certification, and to add incentive pay of $40 per month, per certificate, for
Water Plant Operators who possess Water Distribution Operator certifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve
amendments to various AFSCME Maintenance and Operators salary ranges by eliminating the
second tier created in 2012, moving employees into the single salary range, and Y -rating
impacted employees; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve incentive
pay of $40 per month for Water Distribution Operator certifications for Water Plant Operators as
provided in the chart attached hereto as Exhibit A, retro -active to January 5, 2015.
