The City Clerk's report for the quarter ending Tune 30, was read and referred to the Fina: ;e committee. The president of the Board was authorized to meter contract with. General Electric Company. annual A communication was received from Eaton & Buckley enclosing a deed transferring to the City of Lodi lot 14, block A, of the Lodi Barnhart Tract for use aa a public street. The matter was referred to the Cite Attorney. In response to Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals in the :..at - ter of tha improvement of North Sacramento street, which notice was duly published and posted according to law., bids were received from Federal Construetlon Company, _iag:'h Cru.7hmey and Clark & Henery Con- struction on- struction Company. After canvassing the bids the following resolu- ti(in was introduced by Trustee Montgomery: RESOLUTION OF AWARD. WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees' or the City of Lodi, did, in open 3e3310 n, on the 21st day of July, A. D. 1919, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing certain street work in said city, under and in pursuance of the ',Improveme__t Act of 19110, the came of the streets and highways proposed to be imp oved and the location and character of said proposed work being described in the Resolution of Intention No. 22, or said Board of Trustees, adopted June 2nd, A.D.1919, which Resolution of Intention is hereby expressly referred to for further particulars; RESOLVED, that -the said Board or Trustees hereby reject all of said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and improvement to the lowest responsible bidder, to -wit:- CLARK do BENERY CO:iSTRUC- TIO`i COMPANY, at the price named in its bid. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notice of tliis award conspicuously for five days, on or near the Council Chamber door of this Board of Trustees and also publish said notice three times in THE LODI SENTINEL, a tri -weekly Newspaper published and cir- culated irl said City, and hereby designated for that purpose by said, Board, said newspaper being the official newspaper of said City of Lodi. Upon motion of Trustee 'Montgomery, seconded by Trustee Crose, the foregoing resoLation of award was adopted by the follow- ing vote: :lyes: Trustees' Montgomery, Crose, Morehead and Black.
