Ex -president of the Board extended congratulations to the newly elected Trustees and reminded them of his un -dying opposition to the placing of a fire house in Maple Square. An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi waa called tp order at 8.15 P.M. on the day and date above written and on call of the roll the following Trustees were present: Trustees, Shattuck, Hale, Hickok, Mettler. Absent: Trustee Rich. ?his being the date set for the opening of bidsfor the improvement of Sacramento Street under Resolution of Intention No. 46 and Tokay Street under Resolution of Intention No. 45 and it appearing that notice thereof had been duly given, the Board proceeded to publicly open and declare the bids reeeived. No proposals were received in the matter of the improve- ment of Sacramento Street. The following is a list of bids received for the improve- ment of Tokay Street and the prices bid:- 3IDEERS.... A. Squ Ft. .30 .26 Curb Lin Ft. .50 .50 • The contract for Tokay Street was awarded to Clark & Een- ery Cnestruction Company by the passage of Resolution of Award No. 263 by the following vote: - AYES: Trustees, Hickok, Hale, ettler, Shattuck. NOS: Trustees, o#e• ABSENT: Trustee, Rich. W. E. Faust & A. V. Friedberger addressed the Board as to their desire for an established piece of proper fire equipment west of the track and were assured that as soon as money was in sight,wthermatter would be given careful consideration. Several persons appeased in testimony as to the proper width of South Sacramento Street and it appearing that no fifty foot street existed, it was decided to abandon all previous actions taken and proceed anew under new plans and resolutions. Bernardo Petrini applied for a temporary permit to place a wheeled house south of the "Sentinel" building for a temporary shoe shopduring construction of the "CORY" building. On motion of Trustee Hale, the permit ::as granted for ninety days. The President of the Board was authorized to execute the contract with Clyde P. Smith as consultng sanitary engineer dur- ing construction of the sewage disposal plant by the passage of Resolution ro. 254 by the following vote: - AYES: Trustees, Hale, Hickok, Mettler, Shattuck.
