HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - September 4, 192316 City Hall, City of Lodi 1onday, September 3rd.,1923 This day being a holiday and no member or members of the Board of Trustees of the City appearing up to the usual hour of meeting, I the undersigned Clerk of the City of Lodi and ex - officio clerk of the said Board of Trustees, adjourned the reg- ular meeting scheduled for this date to Tuesday, September 4th., 1923. r-. Attest: 6/7 City Hall, City of Lodi Tuesday, September 4th.,1923. The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi met in adjourn - ad regular session at 8 o'clock P.M. on the date and at the place first above written, Trustees Hale,Hiekok,Yettler,Spooner and Shattuck present; President of the Board J.;4.Shattuek presiding. The minutes of the regular meeting of August 20th.,1923 were read and approved. '.V.J.Jones appeared in protest against the abrupt method of joining the alley approach on Washington Avenue between Oak and Walnut Streets with the pavement; he was assured that this would be corrected. It appearing that it is to the City's advantage to abrogate its present contract with the Western States Gas & Electric Co. and enter into a new contract, the President of the Board was auth- orized and empowered to execute the new contract by the passage of Resolution No. 417, filed in the office of the City Clerk, by the following vote: - AYES: Trustees, 2«ettler, Hicx_ok, Hale, Spooner, Shattuck. NOES: Trustees, Tone. ABSMIT: Trustees, Hone. Reports from the City Plumbing Inspector and City Itiarshal were received, read and ordered filed. The application of Lyon & Irey for a permit to sell fire- arms capable of eoncealment,(Chapter 339, Stats 1923), was grant- ed on recommendation of the Chief of Police. The Clerk read a resolution of Lodi Lodge 241 p of P asking that provision be made for the purchase of a site for a City Hall and auditorium. The same was ordered filed. (min of Sept 4 -cont) 17 I Delivery of 50 Improvement Bonds of issue dated Jure 1, 1923, (Savage Dis-±osal Plant) was authorized by the passage of Resolution No. 420 by the following vote:- AYES: Trustees, Spooner,Hickok,Hale,::ettier, Shattuck. NOES: Trustees, None. A3 SENT: Trustees, Slone. Resolution 415 and resolution of Intention No. 65, the former adopting diagram of the district to be assessed for the costs of the improvement of Garfield -Harold -ventral imp- rovement district, the latter relating to the some, both having been passed and adopted August 20th.,1923 were both +' rescinded by the passage of Resolution ITO. 418 by the following vote: AYES: Trustees,Hale,rickok,Mettler,Spooner,Shattuck. NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None. The district diagram for the improvement of Garfield St., Hatold Street and Central Avenue under Resolution of Intent- ion No. 66 to be later adopted was approved and adopted by the passage of Resolution Ito. 419 by the following vote: - AYES: Truste9s, Spooner, Hickok,Hals, Mettler,Shattuck. NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None. R]iee1t*t0 .of_.ntention No. 66 in the matter of the imp- E rovement of Garfield Street, Harold Street and a portion of Central Avenue was t'ren passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Trustees, Mettler, Hickok,Hale,Spooner,Shattuck. NOES: Trustees, None. A3S3NTt Trustees, Pion. On motion of Trustee Spooner, seconded by Trustee Hickok, the City Engineer and City Attorney were chosen dele?ates to' the session of the -League of California Municipalities at Coron- ado California. On motion of Trustee :.iettler, bills as allowed by the auditing committee were ordered paid. On motion of Trustee Spooner, the walam rate charged the Episcopal Church for water was reduced A1.00 and refund of former c arae for same made at rate of "2.50 ordered made. On motion of Trustee Hickok, the Board adjourned until 7.30 P.Y. of September 5th.,1923. ,,test:� Cit:% Clerk.
