In regular session of the 3oard of Trustees Of the City Of
Lodi there were present Trustees lLontgomery, "rule, Rich, Hickolt and
Crose.
Minutes of the reular meeting of November lot were read
and a:mroved.
Petition3 signed by property owners representing more than
51i of the frontage or. Bust Elm Street and Stoc{tor. Street, from the
lout: line of Locust Street to the i%orth line Of alley rUn:.1ng east
and ,vest between Pine and Oak Streets, requesting the Hoard to order
t,:e pavino of said streets, were presneted and read, and upon motion
red�larly ?ode, seconded and carried, the City Engineer was directed
to prepare plans and spacifications for said improvements.
Renewal policies of insurance covering ;4000 for three years
on the municipal 'oaths were presented by 1,j.3.Coleman and C. H. Suess
w�71c'r_ u.on Lotion were accepted.
A .or_unication was read from W. N. Duvall, District Secre—
tary of tKe Board of _ire Underwriters of the Pacific, regarding pro --
posed i?:mrovements in the water system and fire del:a.rtnent . The corn— 1
muTlicatior ,was ordered filed.
F. W. Webster, General Manager of Central California Traction
Comtany, appeared before the Board in response to summons to show
cause w;y the franchise of said co:parry should not be revoked on ac—
count of its failure to pave certain streets in the City .of Lodi,
traversed cy its tracks, according to terms of said frarcr_iae. Mr.
Webster stated it was impossible to secure the necessary funds to
make said imDrovemerts at this time and asked for further extension
of time by the city, promising that he would use his utmost efforts
to begin said worn within six months from- date. City Attorney Steele
stated r'ie had negotiated with said Central California Traction Com—
parr _'or many :onus in an effort to have said work done and believed
that they should be granted further time provided they would immedi—
ately proceed to fill in their track and roadbed with materials that
would protect the paving now laid on said streets, said work to be
done to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. This Mr. Webster
promioed ,.ould b done in the immediate future. Thereupon Trustee
F_ale moved, seconded by Trustee Rict, that, Whereas F. W. Webster
In behalf of Central California Traction Company, having appeared
before tre Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi in answer to sum—
mons to show cause why that company's franchise should not be re—
vOKed for its failure to pave portions of certain streets, accord—
Ino .o the terms of said franchise, and having promised the Board
that temporary paving would be put in until permanent work could be
done, and that said paema.nert paving would be begun within six
-- months fror, date, that the matter be postponed for a reasonable
lime. The foregoing motion was adapted by the affirmative votes c
all members of the Board.
RESOLUTION NO. 111.
WHEREAS, it was the intention of this Board in the ronth of
July, 1918, to appropriate 1900.00 from the General rund of the City
of Lodi and transfer the same to the Library Fund, and
WHEIF 'AS, by inadvertence no resolution was passed to that
effect; and
WE---VEAS; the Treasurer of the City of Lodi has heretofore
since said month of July 1918, transferred to the Library Fund tae sum
of X504.66; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the action of the City Treasurer in so trans-
ferring said sum to the Library Fund, be and it is hereby ratified
and agproced, ars
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the balance of said sum of
X900.00, to -,;,It. the sum of 8395.34 be, and it is hereby aaurouria.ted
from 'the General Fund, ar_d the City Treasurer is hereby authorized
and directed to transfer said amount of 0395.34 to the Library Fund.

Ayes: Trustees Hale,Aich,nickok,Crose and Montgomery.

ember ist , 1920, and laid on the table for not less than five days,
was given second rearing and finally passed by trig, following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Rich, Hickok, dale, Crose and Montgomery.
Yoes: None.
Absent: done.
Trustee Crose Loved, d@conded by Trustee Hickok, that sal-
aries of Fire Department officers and pa„v of firemen be ircreaaed as
applied for by the Fire Depart=ent Tune 19th, 1920, to be effective
1�oveaber 1st, in accorulance with the following, sehadule:

Which motion was adopted by unaramous vote of all members
of the Board.
Twenty-three building lipplications for building permits
were read, granted and ordered filed.
Miscellaneous bills amounting to v2s4-6.97, having been
passed by the auditing committee , were allowed and ordered paid.
Upon motion regularly made , seconded and adopted, T. L.
Webb, engineer at the water works, was employed to care for the
fire ergine, his cor..pensatlon to be 810.00 per month in addition
to his regular salary of 4150.00 per month.

ter -der the work of janitor at the City Hall to F. H. Foster, en-
oireer at the water works, his compensation to be 9610.00 per month
in aacition to is regular salary of 8150.00 per r or_th.
No further business appearing the Board adjourned until
the next regular meeting, December 6th, 1920.
