In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Loll, hell this date, there were present Trustees Llont�omery,crosa,

The Volunteer Fire Department, in a written comr-lunication,
askez! the Board to again take UD the .::atter of Incr-ja2?l pay for
the fireman. Tie Fire Department also submitted a schedule and
estiz.atas of tP-i cost of additional fire equipment, with a request
that Its ourchase and installation be given serluos consideration
at an early date. Plans and estimates were also filed by the C-J7:y
Engineer for tiae Installation of larger water zain;a ad a water
circulatirg system In the business center and around the rain pack-

H),I:Chins Street to its west terminal, the -following. resolution
was adopted:
WHEREAS, Clark & Fenery Construction Company having filed
,vitn tnis Board a petition as.,c!.n,g for an extension of time In
which to complete its contract, dated Aug-ust 5Th, 1920, to pave
Wast Elm Street, from the east line of Hutcnins Street to Its
west terminal, and said petition coming on regularly to be heard,
and good cause aypearind therefor, it is hereby
RESOLVED, 21at said Clark & Henery Construction Compares
be, and it is hereby, granted an extension of Ninety (90) days in
which to complete said contract.
Upon motion of Trustee :ale, se=conded by Trustee Rich, the
foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote,.
Ayes: Trustees Hale, Rich, Hickok, Crose and Montgomery.
Noes; None.
Absent: None.
The City Clark was Instructed to secure axi estimate of the
cost of publisning and prinT-ir.g the annual report, To be submitted
at the next meeZin6 of the Board.
Official notice of the League of California Municipalities
Convention to be held at Chico November 8th to 11th was received -
and ordered filed.
Central California Traction Coz-�;ar,y Navin..- filed Its ap-
plication with the Railroad Commission for permit to build a spur
track across Cherokee Lane at Lodi Avenue, and the City of Lodi

Chambers of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, County
of San Joaquin, State of California.
The petition of the LAWR. 17Cr. HOLDING COUPANY) a corporation.,
filed :.ereirn on the 20th day of September, A.D.1920, praying for the
abandonment of the alley above mentioned hereinafter particularly
described, and this Board1^:aving on the said 20th day of September,
1920, passed Its resolutl0n of intention to order the abandonment
of said alley,
And it appearing to the Board and the Board now finds thatthe
Streit Superintendent did on the 214th day of September, 1920, cause
to be conspicuously posted along the line of contemplated work de—
scribed In said resolution, to—wit: along the entire length of said
alley at not core than 300 faet in distance apart, six notices of
the passage of said resolution, by posting three of said notices on
the east lire of said alley and three of said notices on the west
line of said alley.
That each of said notices was headed, 11 -Notice of Public work",
it let:?rs r.ot less tan one Inch In length in legible characters
and stated the fact of the passage of said resolution, its date, and
briefly the work for Improvement proposed and referred to said_-reso—
lutior_ _'or further particulars.
That said Street Superintendent also caused a notice similar
In substance to those posted as hereinbefore mentioned, to be pub—
lised for a period of more than ter. days by six successive inser—
tions in The Lodi Sentinel, a tri—weekly newspaper published and
circulated In said City of Lodi. All in accordance with the law am th
the order of this Board.
That more than ter. days have expired since the last:publica—
tion of said notice, and no objections whatsoever have been delivered
t0 th? Clerk or filed with ttls Board of Trustees.
r" That the time prescribed during which an objection to the
j :.bandoivaen t of said alley ray be made has expired, and no objections
n7tinv been made, this Board has acauired jurisdiction to order the
aba_zors ent of said alley.
That it will be for the public interest and benefit of t:.e
City of nodi that said alley be abandoned, and that all the aliena—
tions in said petition are true.
THEREFORE IT IS ORDERED that said alley, which rums norterly
and southerly between Lots A and B of Block ivumbered Thirty—eio:,t
( 38) as per map of LaWRE ,-C3 HOYESTAED ADDITION, filed for record on
the 5th day of April, A. D. 1920, in Book of Maps and Plats Vol.10,
Page 5, Sar: Joaquin County Records, described as follows, to—wit:
Beginning at a point on the South line of said Block Num—
bered Thirty—eight (38) 151.35 feet West of the Southeast corner of
said Block, and running thence Northerly to the North line of said
Block 150 .feet west of the Northeast corner of said Block; thence
Westerly to a point in the North line of said Block:: 150 feet East
of the _•;crthwest corner of said Block; thence Southerly to a poirt
In the South line of said Block, 151.35 feet East of the Southwest
corner of said Block; thence Easterly along the south line of said
Block to the point of begirnino, be and it is hereby abandoned.

R.J.Custer filed a petition of electors of the City of Lodi
asking the Board to call a special election to elect a Board of
Freeholders to frame a charter for the City of Lodi.
