The following resolution having been introduced September 17th and laid on the table for not less than five days was taken up for final action: RESOLUTION. WHEREAS, HANNAH WATKINS, for the Widening of North School Street, has offered to sell to the City of Lodi,. for the sum of 4160, that niece of land situate on North School Street, in said City of Lodi and described as follows: Being the west ten (10) feet of the following described piece of land: Beginning at a point 135' feet northerly from the north—east corner of Loekeford Street and the north extension of School Street, in the City of Lodi; thence running northerly one hundred and. five feet along the east side of the extension of said School Street; thence easterly 98.9 feet; thence southerly One Hundred and five (105) feet; thence westerly 96.4 feet, to the place of beginning. Being a fraction of the north—west Quarter (N.w.')of section One (1) Township Three (3) North, Range Six (6) East, M.D.B.& M. AND WTEREAS, EUGENE F. NICKEL and ANNA M. NICKEL, his wife, have Offered to sell to.the City of Lodi, for the sum of $75.00, that certain piece of land situate on North School Street, in said City of Lodi, and described as follows: The West Ten (10) feet of the following described piece of land, for the purpose of widening North School Street: Being a portion of Lot Number Three (3) in Block °C° of the Laura DaPorce Gordon Tract in the City of Lodi, California, and more par ticularly described as follows, to—wit: Commencing at a point on the North line of Loekeford Street of t_ ^_e Torrn ( now City) of Lodi, where the same Would be intersected by the continuation northerly of the line dividing Lots Two (2) and Three (3) in Block Thirteen (13) in.said Town (now City) of Lodi and running thence westerly along the north line of Loekeford Street 100 feet; thence Northerly and parallel with said continuation of the line dividing Lots Two (2) and Three (3) in Block Thirteen (13), 240 feet to the point of beginning of the tract of land herein described; thence Northerly on continuation of the same, 40 feet; -thence westerly and parallel with the North line of Lockeford Street 40 feet: thence Southerly and parallel with the said continuation of the line dividing said Lots Two (2) and Three (3) in Block Thirteen (13) of the Town (now City) of Lodi, 40 feet; thence Easterly and parallel with the - Yorth line of Lockeford Street 98.9 feet to the point of beginning. AND w-'ihvAS, this Board of Trustees deem 1t for the best in- terest of said City, that it acquire and own said described land, and it appearing to the Board that the prices asked for said lard by the owners, are reasonable, now therefore be it RESOLVED, that said City of Lodi, purchase and acquire said land above described, for the prices named, and the Clerk of this Board is hereby authorized on behalf of this Board to accept and receive good and sufficient deeds of said land, conveying the same to the City with good merchantable title, and upon delivery of said deeds that war- rants be drawn in the usual manner, payable to the respective owners of said land, or their order. And it is hereby, RESOLVED, that the sum of -4235.00 is hereby appropriated and set aside from the g neral fund for the payment of said lands. Trustee Folendorf moved, seconded by Trustee Black, the adoption of the resolution as read, which motion was carried by the following , vote: Ayes; Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf. ' Noes: None. Trustee Keeney introduced a resolution providing for the deed- ing to the City of Lodi of a certain piece of land owned by E.3.Deaver fronting five feet on DeFOrce Avenue, the City of Lodi to transfer to said E.F.Deaver, in exchange therefor, a piece of land of.equal dimen- sions north of and adjacent thereto. The resolution was upon motion laid on the table for not less than five days. ,miscellaneous claims against the City amounting to $778.99 were allowed and ordered paid. In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi there were present Trustees Hale, Black, Kee. -Ley and Folerdorf, Trustee Deaver absent. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Building permits were granted to the following: C. T. Jansen., private garage at 411 Eden Street. L. A. Woodson, residence lot 6, block 4, Bar nhart Tract. J. Hammer, addition to dwelling at 520 Tokay Street. City.Plumbing inspector's report for the month of August was read and ordered.filed. The report of City Clerk for the quarter ending September 30th was read and referred to the Finance Committee - City Engineer Barzellotti submitted an estimate on the cost of pipe a= materials necessary to construct storm sewers in North School street, the total amount of his estimate being $1400.24. I Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, that the L - Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for bids for vitrified pipe and connections necessary for the construction of storm sewers in 2•iorth School street; also for cement pipe laid for the same work, to be done in accordance with plans to be submitted by the City Engineer. The motion was adopted unanimously. A resolution providing for the exchange of certain pieces of land o�,med by the City and E. F.
