Proposals for fire apparatus a?so having been invited under date of
July 8-1921 setting this as the date to receive and open bids, the follow-
ing firms submitted proposals in the amounts and capacities named: -

a Central California Traction Company, through its Suparinten--
dent,^ J.J.Hooper and its Attorney Jr A.y.Levinsky presented a
�a'ition for an ordinance granting to them the -right to construct,
lay down, maintain and operate a spur track :sitnin the limits described
as follows:"Comencing for the center line of said Spur track at the
intersection of the northerly City limits line of the City of Lodi,
California, .,rith a point 22 ft. _�ast of the center line of Sacramento
Street in said City of Lodi, and running thence southerly, 22 ft.
from, and parallel to the center line of said Sacramento Street, a di t-
ance of 620 ft.; thence on a gradual curve to the right, a distance of
150 ft. to a point in the center of the present track of the Central
Cs-li-ornia Traction Company, which track is located on or near the center
of said Sacramento Street".
In compliance ;liti: the above petition, tr_a Board then adopted
Resolution No.161 (filed in the office of the ',ity Clerk), setting

protests against the ranting of the proposed ordinance and also dir-
ecting publication of a notice stating that the above application had
t— been filed and that it :ras proposed to pass the ordinance „ranting this
