City Hall City of Lodi,
Monday,Jdiy 23, 1923:
-Pursuant to ad'ournnrent from the regular meeting of
July 16th,1923, the Boar of Trustees of the City of Lodi met
in adjourned regalar session at 8 o'clock PX. on the date'
first above written, J.I. Shattuck presiding, 'Trustees Hale,
Hickok, lettler, Spooner and Shattuck present;
The minutes of the regular meeting of July 16th were
approved without correction.
Lr Ludwig Helwig, having filed a petition ar ainst
theaving of Garfield Street, a-ppeared in support of -the same;
the Clerk read the petition and `also a co-_mmnication from the
City ?latzning Commission in the matter as follows:-'
To the Honorable Board of Trustees, City of Lodi
Gentlemen: -
The City Planning Co=,,ission at its meeting held on
July 18th adopted the following reco=endations:-
First:- That in the contemplated improvement of Gar-
field Street the regular width of the roadway be maintained ac-
cording to ordinance, regardless of existing trees;
Second: That the -oortion of Garfield Street which
extends South of TokazT Street to Wive Street be widened to con-
form with the :width othe same street north of Tokay Street,

Petitions for the improvement of the following streets
hatring been filed with the Clerk, the same were presented to the
Board and on motion of Trustee Spooner, seconded by Trustee
Hickok, referred to the Engineer for checking.
Central Avenue, south to vine Street.-
Maple
treet.
Maple Street, throughout its entire length.
Garfield Street from R.R.Avenue to the south city limit
Foster &. Kleiser a-iplieE for permission to erect a
signboard oapposite the PostoTTlce on W. Oak Street. On motion

oTrustee Hale, permit denied.
This being the date set for reception of bids for chlor-
ination apparatus for the se::age disposal plant; -',.he Board open-
ed and ceKared the bids received; but one received, that of
Wallace & Tiernan Co. Inc, and a:rard ,as made to that company by
the passage of Resolution of ALard No. 409 by the follovring vote:
AYES: Hickok, Haale,LIettler�Spooner,Shattuck.
NOES: None. Absent; Done.
On motion of Trustee Hickok, the City Attorney was ins-
tructed to notify the owner of the premises occupied by the
Goodfellows Grill that the upper fro9t of the building constit-
uted a menace to passing pedestrians.
The re-aort of the coi=ittee of the whole in regard to
the grantil of building permit No.151 being adverse, on motion
of Trustee ettier, permit was denied_.
