HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 07-21-1924all City of Lodi Juij; 21", 192A_ The regular meeting of the Board of Tr-astees of the City of Lodi was called to order by the President at 8.12 o'clock P.ILT,' on the above date-, Trustees Lettler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner present, Trustee Hale absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of July 7th were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the 'President. There being no persons in attendance, the order of Public Hearings and -Protests was passed and the Board proceeded to hear the conn 7anications and reports accumlated since the last meeting. Fire Chief Z.H.Stark a,) -lied for leave of absencefrom August 3rd for a *period of ten days in which to attend the Fire Chiefs convention at Pasadena and the same -_.as unanimous- ly allowed. Ers -.­.Loit7ood a,-_'1dre_-se(' a letter to the Board in U� protest against the expend#ure of money for a fire alarm system. Haydon Company applied for insurance on the new fire exZ- ire house and buildings at the se -,:age disposal plant, quoting rates. The Lodi Realty Company also applied for a share of the City's insurance. Reports of the City Plumbing Inspector for IT and June -,-.-e--e received and ordered filed. Quarterly re,�ortus from the Treasurer and City Clerk were read at length and on motion of Trustee Shattuck, approved and ordered filed, 1-r. H. F. Ellis, City Recorder, appeared before the Board in person and orally applied for leave of absence in which to re7ain his health. leave to date from July 24th for a per:;od of sixty days. Leave -,-,ras granted Er Ellis by the passage of the r,- follcwinG resolution by unanimous vote. S LUT 1011 7H -=AS, ',.'r. H. F. Ellis, the duly appointed, acting and -ied City ._?ecorder of the City of Lodi has applied to this Board for leave of absence for sixty days from and after the 241th day of July, 1924 on account of ill health; BE IT 7L73GLTED, therefore, that this Board hereby grants Kr E.111is the leave a:o-olied for and for the period stated; BJP =- S OLYE L U30, -that Yr j. E, Ho jok ins be and he is so hereby appointed to act and serve as City Recorder of this City during the absence of Zr Ellis as aforesaid. The Clerk read a lengthy re ort, in part, of the findings of the State Board of health in rep -rd to a test run rade by their engineers at the Sewage Disposal plant; also a letter regarding the contamination of water su plies. Trustee Shattuck brought up the matter of the urgent need of renairs to the _amine Street arch. The matter was referred to the City Clerk for investigation and report. Fred '47. Post applied for two weeks leave of absence with say from his duties as supervising attendant at the Se�iage Disp- osal Plant and on motion of Trustee Shattuck the same was grant- ed to date from August 1st. t The Clerk stated that the Sanitary City Stavanger Company had applied to him for release from payments due the City under the garbage co'_lection contract held by them for the period that .garbage could not be moved on account of the apthos fever quar- rantine. The City Attorney advised the Board that this would not impair or invalidate the contract and the Clerk was inst- ructed to ascertain the exact period within which garbage could not be moved and sold and report back to the Board for their action. On motion of Trustee iettler, bills as audited, amounting to $4,172.35 were a_oproved for payment.
