July was called to order by President J..7.3hattuek at 8 o'clock P.M. and on call of the roll, Trustees Hale, Hickok, Mettler, Spooner and Shattuck were present. The minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on June 18th were approved without correction. This being the date set by notice duly published in com- pliance with Resolution ordering the work No. 406, Washington Street, inviting sealed proposals for doing the work ordered; the Board proceeded to publicly open and declare the bids received, said bids being as follows; G P C G `,Marren Construction Co. .o3 .1875 .50 .28 (prices per squ foot except on Clark & Henery Const.0o. ..02 .185 .48 .25 curb which is per lineal foot) It appearing that the bid of the last named contractor was the best received; the Board awarded them the contract by the pas- sage of Resolution of Award No 407 by the following vote: AYES: Trustees, Spooner,Hickok,Hale,Llettler,Shattuck NOES: Trustees, None ABSENT: Trustees, None. RESOLUTION OF AJARD 407 WASHINGTON STREET :EREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi did, in open session on the 2nd day of July, A.D. 1923, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing cert- ain street work in said Oity, under and pursuant of the "Improv- ement Act of 1911", the names of the streets and highways pro- posed to be improved and the location and characterof said pro - posed work and the district to be assessed therefore being des- cribed in the Resolution of Intention No. 63, which Resol- ution of Intention is hereby expressly referred to for further particulars. R -:SOLVED, that the said Board of Trustees hereby rejects all of said proposals or bids except the next herein mentioned, nad hereby awards the contract for doing the said work and imp- rovement to the lowest responsible bidder, viz: -CLARK & HENERY CONS`RUCTION C01P_ANY at the prices named in its bid. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notices of this award consp- icuously for five days, on or near the chamber door of this Board of Trustees and also publish said notice three times in "the Lodi News; a tri -weekly newspaper published and circul- ated in said city and hereby designated for said purpose by said Board. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that notice be given and is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bear interest at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum, will be is- sued hereunder in the manner provided by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, the last installment of which bonds mature nine months from the 2nd day of July next succeeding nine months from their date
