HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - August 18, 1999 E-13CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Authorize City Manager/City Clerk to Execute Grant Deeds to Pacific Coast Producers (PCP) and Scientific Specialties for Excess Property along Guild Avenue MEETING DATE: August 18, 1999 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager and City Clerk to execute grant deeds to PCP and Scientific Specialties to convey excess property along the newly acquired Guild Avenue right of way and also authorize them to execute the map and deeds to PCP as needed in conjunction with the filing of the parcel map and exchange of property on Guild Avenue at Lodi Avenue. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: PCP is purchasing property from the City and other property owners along Guild Avenue in preparation for the expansion of their operation. The right of way for Guild Avenue was deeded directly to the City by the current owners of the property located on the west side of Guild Avenue. There is a small parcel that is not required for the street that the City will deed to PCP as soon as title to the adjacent property is held by them. PCP is dedicating the remainder of the width of Guild Avenue down to Industrial Way. See attached Exhibit A. At this time, we also ask that the City Manager and City Clerk be authorized to sign the parcel map, and execute a property exchange agreement and other deeds needed for the transfer of property in conjunction with the filing of the parcel map for the PCP project. These exchanges will be valued at the price per acre PCP paid for their land and will result in no additional cost to the City. The tentative parcel map is going before the Planning Commission on August 11, 1999. The tentative map is attached as Exhibit B. "Parcel 1" on the west side of Guild Avenue is unusable as a stand-alone parcel. Under the previously approved purchase agreement with Scientific Specialties for property on the north side of Thurman Street, it was agreed that the City would deed this to them.
