The Board of Trustees of the City of Lcdi convened in regu lar session at 8 o'clock, there being present Trustees Black,Hgle, Grose, 1'ontgomery and "Yorehead. linutes of the previa .s meeting were read and corrected Building permits were granted as follows: C.L.VanBuskirk, to remodel building at 24 ':'Test rine St. August Marklein, dwelling lot 22,block 2,Barnhart Tract. W.C.McClelland, woodshed, 5106 Hilborn St. R.E.Pra.tt, poultry house 508 N. Church St. Angelo Palermo, ice cream factory,Cor Oak and Garfield. C.A.YcKellins, office and garage,W."O ft of lot 1,City of Lodi.' W.F .Graham, office, lot 19,block B,Barnhart Tract. P,.Yoon, private garage portion block 15,Barnhart Tract. H.J.Bolinger, dwelling, lot 10,block 1, gest Lodi. Pacific Yunicipalities asked for a picture of the Munici- pal Baths to print on the cover page of their magazine for May. The natter was referred to Chairman Morehead of the P.U.Committee. In the matter of the improvement of Lee Avenue and Locust Street nroposals for grading, ?saving, curbs and gutters were re- ceived from We.deral .onstructicn Company, Yunicipal Improve- ment 7ompany, Clark & Renery Construction Company, Paul & Sayles and Blanchard, Crocker & Howell. After canvass of the bids resolutions of award were intro- duced and adopted as follows: SOLUTION OF AWARD. WIL"I?'7 S, t'^e Bca.rd. of Trnst--s_of tie City of Lodi, did, in open session, on the 5th day of bray, 1919, publicly open, exam- ine , and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing certain street .cork in said city, under and in pursuance of the "Improve- ment Act of 1911", the nares of the streets and highways pro- posed to be improved and the location and character of said pro- posed work being described in the Resolution of Intention No.18, of said Board of 'irustess adopted March 24th, A.D. 1919, which Resolution of Intention is hereby expressly referred to for fur- ther particulars. R-ESOLVED, that the said Board of Trustees hereby reject all of said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and improve- ment to the lowest responsdtble bodd.er, towit: CLARK & IMTERY CON- STRUCTION COMPANY, at the prices made in its bid. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post ,notice of this award conspicuously for five, days, on or near the Council Chamber door of this Board of Trustees and also publish said notice three times in "The Lodi Sentinel", a tri -weekly newspaper published and circulated in said___ city, and hereby designated for that purpose by said Board, sa newspaper being the official newspaper of said City of Lodi. upon notion of Trustee i;iontgonery, seconded by Trustee sorehead, the foregoing resolutiln of award was adopted by the follo'Ring vote: Ayes, Trustees 'ontgomery,?Zorehead, Hale, ^rose and Bla does: None. Absent: Prone.. The Fire Department asked for 200 feet of 3/4 inch rubber hose or the chemical truck. The Clerk was directed to write dealaers Jor prices. 7-e hark was instructed to write Central Californiairaction Company re,,arding the bad condition of their tracks on Sacramento street where repairs were left uncompleted. Pursuant to -call for bids of April Ilth,1919, for furnishing S'.G.V server pine, cement pipe, Portland cement, mahole rings,cov- ers and dustpans and sewer gratings, -proposals were received from the following: Ajax Foundry Co., 11. Clark, & Sons, Nater Works Sup- ply Co., California Potter y Co., Fuller Lumber Co., W.H.Graham, H.Gould, H.C.PEuddox Co., T.W.Terrell, Gladding, McBean Co. ,Fred Spiekerman,an•i Ed Spie:-cerman. Consideration of proposals was post- poned to be taken up at an adjourned meeting. Bills amounting to $4000.03 were allowed and ordered paid. upon motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Montgomery, the Board a^.journed to meet again at S o'clocc p.m., Wednesday, _ay 7, 1919• Attest: City Clerk.
